Now that it is time to go back to school again, we have to prepare ourselves to adjustments. Enough with our vacation routines, especially for the students, and let’s make ourselves familiar again to school days routines. And since it’s time to make our brain cells work hard this time, we have to keep them alive and functioning.
There are certain foods that are good for intellectual stimulation and proper brain function such as flax seed, soybeans, fish like wild salmon, fruits like cherries, grapefruit and plums, vitamins and mineral supplements, walnuts, cacao beans, lean red meat, green tea and even dark berries. So let’s not forget to make this food a part of our healthy diet and daily meal to ensure our proper brain function. Keep our brains always on the go!

While waiting for 12:00 a.m. to welcome the first day of 2010, these kids were having their own party. Charlene and Coleen are my daughters, Camille Ann, Regina, Allyza Shane, Kaye are my niece, Winston, Rouge and Vince are my nephews. These kids were so happy to welcome the new year. They waited for many hours just to witness the fireworks display outside our house and to eat my prepared foods as their first meal in 2010. The meal includes spaghetti, fruit salad, hotdog, fish lumpia and ham as the star of media noche. The kids danced, sang and had some parlor games, exchanged gifts and gift giving and of course prayers. They really enjoyed the party.
I was amazed because at their very young age they can already organize a party. It’s not impossible that someday one of them could be an event organizer.
As a tradition to some, these kids also have their own new year resolution. We see to it that we finish our new year’s resolution before the clock ticks at 12. These resolutions will serve as a guide to follow so we may achieve the goals set for the whole year. It is very effective because of the guidelines, mistake if not eliminated at least be lessened. The best time to start the year is to plan. Do you have your plans listed?
